A totally different take on Christopher Buckley's book, "Growing Up Buckley" by James Rosen in the Washington Post here.
I suppose in a memoir, one can be damned for too much or too little.
Mr Rosen seems to think the book went too far, and contained too many facts, facts that showed the elder Buckleys in their nightgowns rather than in their evening wear.

What a pleasant surprise: Christopher Buckley
In the Daily Beast, Christopher Buckley makes me laugh, smile, and delight in his prose on, yes, again, Sarah Palin.
But what is most important to me the reader is that Mr. Buckley appears to have developed some or all of his father's humour, mirth and good writing skills.
One of several great losses to readers was the recent passing of William F. Buckley, Jr.
A man who knew how to write, speak and self-edit.
Pity more writers haven't followed in his footsteps.
