Water, the Quencher & the Destroyer

I am working on my Valentine project, Yo te quiero mucho and went down cellar to recover some Look and Life magazines I bought a few years ago at the Park Slope Flea Market. I was hoping I had an issue with images I could use for the late 50s.

Much to my horror, the box in which they were stored must have fallen, landing near water seepage, and they are now all water logged.

I put them on the back porch where I get southern sun in the hope they will dry out, but they will be moldy.

So sad!

In 2002, when visiting Vancouver, Leanne Bishop of Collage Joy gave me this book, grinned and immediately said, "I wonder what you'll do with it?"

Nearly seven years later, I may have found a way to use this Valentine Red Book to memorialise some of my fine romances.
