271 year old manuscript, colours & penmanship

Erik Kwakkel of Leiden University may have been the first to post information on the manuscript. now housed at the Bibliothèque municipale in Aix-en-Provence and available, page by page at E-Corpus.

Manuscript page 180

The penmanship should not be overlooked in favour of the remarkable swatches of colour.

Manuscript page 393

Thus far, I've gone through less than the first 200 pages.  Several words are totally legible and correspond to present day Dutch, but other words, either because of the flourish or because of a change in spelling, are unfamiliar to me.

Just imagine sitting patiently, hour after hour, as a scribe and perhaps artist, but definitely an artisan, compiling such a single volume.
