Fawns on the Lawn

Although I wish I had fewer deer, it is always amazing to see the children of the animals that venture around the property.

These two fawns came out just before sundown to eat the clover.   I didn't risk going out to greet them so the photograph is taken through the window screen.

Unafraid Deer

I saw the deer gather across the road just as the sun was going down.

I hoped I could capture them eating the grass but when I opened the screen door they stopped to peer at me.

They didn't run.

But I also didn't think they'd stay long enough for me to get closer.

Walking around the garden

When MS joined me for a walk through the back yard Saturday, we started to plan a vegetable garden. One of the serious challenges: deer.

I don't think I've ever as many deer anywhere before and they love to munch on all edibles.

The second challenge: poor soil.

Well, with those two issues to contend with I might consider more patio pots.
