Copic Markers and Pens

The Pen Addict's recent Copic Multiliner give-a-way reminded me of my very own stash of Copic markers and pens. These really hold up as I am reasonably certain I bought the Copics more than three or four years ago and all appear ready to write.

I also have quite a few markers. I did some colour tests, but for some reason I can't seem to identify which Copic markers they are and there are several varieties. Most of those I have are cylindrical, but others are squared off. (NB: The cylindrical ones are "Sketch.")

I believe I discovered these in one of Teesha Moore's Play zines. It's also possible I bought them in Seattle at Kerrie Carbary's Turtle Press.

Sometimes my memory is beyond excellent, other times I can't remember my own name but it is good that I rediscovered this hoard of markers as I have every intention of using them this week.

Pens that hold up

I am like a snail going into and coming out of inventory, examination mode and just tested some very retired pens.

Sakura Gelly Pens are holding up really well.

Galaxy Markers, although acid free and write exceptionally well on dark paper, often run out of ink before the sun goes down and those I had capped and stored are for the most part trash can ready.

Strangely among the gellys and markers, I discovered a purple Le Fountain Pen by Marvy, probably 4 or 5 years old that still writes. So congratulations to Marvy.

And I see someone reviewed these Marvys about two years ago at the Fountain Pen Network.

A cup of black Pilots

These Pilot V balls, extra fine, were my favourite non-fountain pen for drawing as can be attested by this collection.

Gwen introduced them to me as one of the few that wrote over gel medium.

The last time I was in a large stationary store I couldn't find them.

If the weather would just improve I'd consider a trip to either Scranton (where they have choices) or Middletown where they have similar shops.

Judging from a google search it looks as if they may have been re-packaged. However, Misterart does appear to have the exact or nearly the same pen.

I also just checked Jet Pens and it looks as if they have another Pilot that may be similar.
