My 1st Pentel Slicci

After reading reviews at the Pen Addict and Roz Wound Up, I decided to splurge and include a Pentel Brown Slicci, .40mm on my Jet Pens order last month.

It is a great feeling pen in the hand, the line is smooth, consistent and the pen flows well.

It can be used as a drawing pen, but it is not water resistant and while doing a few watercolours, it appears most of the line(s) dissolved--possibly a positive attribute for some.

At $3.00 each, I'd say the pen is worth owning and thoroughly enjoyable to use.

Copic Markers and Pens

The Pen Addict's recent Copic Multiliner give-a-way reminded me of my very own stash of Copic markers and pens. These really hold up as I am reasonably certain I bought the Copics more than three or four years ago and all appear ready to write.

I also have quite a few markers. I did some colour tests, but for some reason I can't seem to identify which Copic markers they are and there are several varieties. Most of those I have are cylindrical, but others are squared off. (NB: The cylindrical ones are "Sketch.")

I believe I discovered these in one of Teesha Moore's Play zines. It's also possible I bought them in Seattle at Kerrie Carbary's Turtle Press.

Sometimes my memory is beyond excellent, other times I can't remember my own name but it is good that I rediscovered this hoard of markers as I have every intention of using them this week.

As writing often pays for my hobbies, good writing advice is always something I take seriously.

Not a fountain pen: Pen Addict

If you are into writing implements, and don't restrict yourself to fountain pens, Pen Addict, is a really good blog to check out.

I've learned quite a bit about pens either new on the market or that I haven't tried.

But with as many pens (fountain pens and otherwise) I own, discretion is the better part of my purse.

I did, however, buy two disposal Kuretake
brush pens to experiment with from Jet Pens although I am a big fan of Tomboy ABTs, among others and have quite a stash of Copics.

For the longest time Kuretake was hard to come by in the States, and I put them on the back burner until now.

When I don't use a fountain pen, or a Pilot Vball, I use brush pens. I love the way they make broad flourishes and I think I've agreed to participate in a new project last night and brush pens will be put to good use as they generally work well over acrylics.
