Another contemporary...dies

It appears that Michael Crichton died and although the New York Times sent an alert they didn't follow up with an obituary.

I remember reading Crichton's 1969 best seller, The Andromeda Strain, not a book I would have ordinarily read but a genre my husband often had at hand. In fact, it may be Crichton who set me off on a reading spree of science fiction that has lasted until today.

A growing list of contemporaries are making headlines or finding their way to the Obit pages--not a good sign.

Here's a decent Obit at the Guardian.

On Point talks Crichton: A terrific hour long look back the author and his work.
