I always wished I was a bird!

On January 29, Paula Rego will talk at the National Portrait Gallery (UK), more than 3000 miles from here, and I so wish I could fly, not on an aeroplane, but with my very own wings so that I could twitter here and there, at will, and see some of the amazing events that take place across the globe.

Yes, I'd love to be a globetrotter, but without having to pack, unpack, book reservations or stay in a hotel (I loathe hotels).

Rego is among those female painters we hear too little about although the strength of her work is enormous.
