The Intricacies of Loading a Piston
Until the subject was raised at the FPn, I loaded my Pelikan piston's gently, fully and without any evident problems.
Now it appears it is recommended to allow a few (3-5) drops back into the well. This appears to be true for Mont Blancs, Pelikans and Geha fountain pens.
